The 12 principles of animation were first introduced by Frank Thomas and Ollie Johnson who worked at Disney.
One of the most important principles is Squash and Stretch. You must keep the same mass.
Anticipation is the build up of a motion which adds realism.
I chose this example because before he launches himself there is a little push at the start.
Staging is about guiding the viewers eye to key moments happening.
The staging here is the Jiggy (puzzle piece) bouncing across the floor. At fist the attention is on the three characters but then shifts to the Jiggy.
Straight Ahead/Pose to Pose: straight ahead is the process of drawing frames for better realism and makes it fluid. Pose to Pose is drawing the beginning and end frames and then filling in key frames in-between.
Follow through and overlapping is when other object do not share the same movement, for example when running and stopping hair will go forward and then stop.
The example here is the chain and jacket, they both have a little animation as Jotaro turns around.
Slow in and slow out is the idea of an object gaining momentum and then slowing down again. The example here is the building been pushed but slowing down as it stops moving.
