The topic I have chose to talk about is 'Why the Pixar film Luca was only released on Disney Plus'. I chose to talk and research about this because I was quite confused to why it was only on Disney Plus when it first released. I am questioning why they didn't bring it to cinemas when it released, I understand that cinemas were only just reopening due to the pandemic, however the cinemas had already been open for a while now in most countries and films were starting to get back to their regular schedule. This isn't just other film companies either. Disney themselves were starting to release films both in cinemas and on Disney Plus at the same time but making subscribers have to pay to watch the films on Disney Plus even after paying for the subscription itself. Luca is the only new Disney film to be free on Disney Plus but also the only Disney Plus exclusive film out of the new films like Raya and the last dragon, Black widow and Cruella. The reason Luca was an exclusive was to try and get more people to purchase the subscription instead of going to cinemas (which was possible during the time).
