Story
The story section is the first section of the pipeline and involves tasks such as making the storyboards, writing the script and coming up with the main story. This section mostly just involves concept.
Editorial
This section is done by the editors who take the storyboards and dub the movie scenes since they don't have the actual voice actors in the studio. They add music and sound effects to make the storyboards feel more like a foundation for the movie.
Art
The artists will create what the film will look like, wuth concept art of scenes, characters, objects and more.
Modeling
This section is modeling every single piece, object, character in the film
Rigging
Riggers will use the use the models that have previously been made by the modelers. The riggers will rig the models and make them be able to move limbs and facial expressions.
Surfacing
Surfacing will add materials and textures to the models and make sure they look shiny or bumpy.
Rough layout
The people in rough layout will use the storyboard to start making a rough version of the film with the previously made models.
Animation
The animators start using the rigs to animate. Some character models can have up around 4000 controls or more depending on what model it is, this shows how in depth the animation is.
Crowds
The animators can usually handle animating a few characters but if there is too many characters on screen at once then the crowds section will handle this by creating a few different animations and making them random which most viewers won't notice when watching.
Character FX
The FX section adds movement to stuff like clothing and wind effects and furr movement.
FX
FX is like charcter FX except on objects like explosions and wreckage plus other stuff like weather.
Lighting
Lighting adds light to the scene so you can actually see the scenes
